Sidney's Dream
Sidney dreams of strengthening her degree with a certification in addiction counseling. She is set to graduate with her bachelor’s in social work this spring, and fulfilling this dream will help her enhance her skills and prepare for her future career.
Sidney spent six years in foster care and aged out feeling lonely and unsure of how to navigate the challenges she was facing. Keeping her eyes on her goals, she enrolled in college and developed a passion for helping others, especially those who feel lost and overlooked. As she pursues a future in social work, she says, “I want my career to be about more than just a job. I want it to make a real and lasting difference.” Sidney is soon to start a full-time internship at a youth shelter where she will have an opportunity to put the things she’s learned into practice.
