Jacayla’s Dream
Jacayla is dreaming of going to nursing school this fall. Fulfilling this dream will provide the program essentials she needs to advance in her degree.
Jacayla was a young teen when she was placed in foster care. She aged out at eighteen and shared, “As a former foster youth, I didn’t have the safety net that many others rely on during this stage of life. Transitioning into independence came with constant financial pressure, emotional stress, and the challenge of figuring everything out by myself.” Determined to build a better future for herself, she is pushing through the challenges and in school full-time, pursuing a degree in nursing.
Motivated by a passion to help others, Jacayla dreams of becoming a registered nurse in pediatrics who offers children the care, kindness, and empathy she wishes she’d experienced growing up. Jacayla’s goals are clear, and with the support of a community that sees her heart and hard work, there is no stopping her!
