Gen is dreaming of becoming an athletic trainer and needs a bed and household essentials to help create a safe and comfortable home. Her air mattress recently developed a hole, leaving her without a proper place to sleep and currently sleeping on the floor. A bed and essential household items would provide Gen with greater stability and comfort as she continues working toward her goals.
Gen spent nearly a decade in foster care, from age 12 until she aged out at 21. Since aging out, she has had to navigate adulthood largely on her own, learning how to manage housing, finances, education, and other responsibilities without the family support many young adults can rely on. These experiences have strengthened her independence and resilience and have motivated her to build a stable and secure future.
Today, Gen is working full-time as a Customer Service Representative while attending school and pursuing her Associate’s degree in Health Science. Her long-term goal is to continue her education and become an athletic trainer. Her love for sports, including her experiences in track and basketball, inspired her desire to help athletes through injuries and challenges and support them as they work to return to the activities they love.
Fulfilling Gen’s dream would provide more than a bed—it would give her a comfortable and stable place to rest while she works full-time and pursues her education. Support with household essentials would help create a more secure home environment and allow Gen to focus her energy on completing her degree and taking the next steps toward a career as an athletic trainer.
