Dream Share is an opportunity for the community to come together to support youth!
Vannah is dreaming of a high-quality digital camera. Fulfilling this dream will elevate her work as a youth advocate and storyteller who is using her personal story of healing to encourage and coach system-impacted youth.
Vannah was in and out of foster care throughout her childhood and teenage years. She lost her mother at a young age, changed schools five times, and struggled with depression, chronic illness, abuse, and bullying throughout her teens. These challenges could have silenced her, but instead gave clarity to her voice and kindled a passion in her to come alongside other foster youth and help lead them towards the healing and hope that she now has. In addition to her work with foster youth, Vannah is a jeweler who carefully sources and crafts beautiful jewelry she sells through her website and at special events.
She sees everything she has as a gift from God, and is committed to building her future in the same way she got to this point in her life - with grit, tenacity, and deep faith. She shared, “I built a life marked by healing and community out of nothing. And I want others to know that whatever their trauma is, whatever their pain is, there is hope; that you can rise from the ashes and begin anew. And I know that my testimony and story can help, have helped, and will continue to help so many.”
Vannah has done the hard and fruitful work of facing her trauma and allowing her life to be healed from the inside out, and now that personal work is overflowing into the lives of others. With a new camera, she will be able to do the good she is already doing, but better and on a larger scale. Let’s put wind in this young dreamer’s sails!
