Alex is dreaming of furnishing her first apartment and needs essential household items, including kitchen appliances, bathroom necessities, and décor, to make her new space feel like home. After recently being approved for her first apartment, Alex has reached an exciting milestone on her journey toward independence. However, the costs of moving in have used most of her savings, leaving her with limited resources to purchase the everyday items needed to make her new home comfortable and functional.
Alex spent approximately two years in foster care and is now navigating adulthood independently. Since aging out, she has faced the challenges of managing housing, finances, employment, and other responsibilities without a consistent support system. Despite these obstacles, she has continued working hard to build a stable future and create a life beyond simply surviving.
Alex works full-time delivering groceries and food orders while continuing to pursue her professional goals. She recently graduated from her training program and is now preparing for her state exams to become a certified substance abuse counselor.
