Skylar is dreaming of items for her first apartment. Fulfilling this dream will help her create a safe and comfortable home base that will support her as she works and goes back to school to pursue her career goals.
Skylar entered the foster care system at a young age and aged out at eighteen. Since then, she has continued pushing forward despite navigating adulthood largely on her own. Her resilience, determination, and commitment to building a better future have carried her through difficult circumstances and major life transitions.
Skylar currently works full-time as a mental health technician at a behavioral hospital, where she supports children and teens in residential treatment. She is also returning to school to pursue a degree in criminal justice, with hopes of becoming a child and family lawyer or working within child welfare systems to advocate for young people in need.
Skylar is compassionate, hardworking, and deeply driven by her desire to help others. With the support of our community, she will continue to take steps towards her dreams with a solid sense of home.
