Serenity is dreaming of furniture for her apartment. Fulfilling this dream will give her the opportunity to turn a stark living space into a warm, inviting, and comfortable home that feels like her.
Serenity was placed in the system as a tween and aged out at eighteen on shaky ground. She had experienced so much trauma as a child and in her years in the system that navigating independence felt especially difficult. In the times she needed support most, she didn’t have a loving adult to help provide guidance. She describes feeling the weight of knowing that it was all up to her.Serenity didn’t let her challenges snuff out her passion, though, and through hard work was able to get her associate's degree and gain acceptance into a state university where she is now working on her bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in fashion design. She dreams of becoming a sports psychologist who helps athletes “improve their mental performance, manage pressure, and achieve their full potential on and off the field.” She also loves to express her creativity through fashion design and help people feel beautiful through styling.
Serenity is a vibrant woman who could have given into grey-scale living. Instead, she is investing herself in what she loves and bringing out the vivid colors of her own life. With an apartment that feels like home, the sky is the limit for this dreamer!
