Micah’s Dream #1
Micah is dreaming of wearing a wedding dress on her wedding day. Fulfilling this dream would help make a lifelong dream possible as she and her fiancé prepare to begin their marriage without the financial support of family.
Micah spent five years in foster care before aging out through extended foster care. She has now been on her own for five years, navigating adulthood independently while working hard to build a stable future. Like many young adults who age out of foster care, she has faced financial challenges and the difficult reality of pursuing major life milestones without the support system that many others can rely on.
This fall, Micah will marry the love of her life. While she and her fiancé are excited to begin this new chapter together, they are paying for every aspect of their wedding on their own. Without family to help with the expenses, something as meaningful as a wedding dress has become financially out of reach. She has always dreamed of wearing a wedding dress on one of the most important days of her life, and receiving support for this dream would allow her to experience that special moment with confidence and joy.
Micah currently works full-time while continuing to build a stable future with her fiancé. She earned her bachelor's degree in graphic design and hopes to one day build a career in the creative field. She is especially proud of earning her degree and setting an example for her younger siblings, who are now pursuing college themselves.
A wedding dress is more than just a gown—it represents hope, belonging, and the beginning of a new family. Helping fulfill this dream would allow Micah to celebrate this once-in-a-lifetime milestone knowing she is supported and cared for as she starts this exciting new chapter of her life.
