Melissa's Dream #1

$365.00

Melissa is dreaming of furniture for her first apartment. Fulfilling this dream will allow her to turn an empty space into a safe, comfortable home and fully step into this new chapter of stability and independence.

Melissa was only eight when she entered foster care. After ten years in the system, she aged out and has been on her own since she turned 18. Along the way, she has faced financial and housing instability, often feeling the fear of facing homelessness. Despite these hardships, she has remained determined and resilient, continuing to move forward even when circumstances felt overwhelming. As she shares, “God has blessed me, and I’m very grateful. Despite all the challenges, I see the positive alongside all the chaos, and it is the best feeling to accomplish something such as an apartment!”

Today, Melissa works full-time as a medical assistant while also attending school full-time and volunteering in her community on the weekends. Her long-term goal is to build a stable career in the medical field and eventually become a clinical psychiatrist, using both her education and lived experience to help others.

With the support of our community, Melissa can furnish her apartment and create a true home—a place of safety, rest, and renewal as she continues pursuing her education, career goals, and a bright, purpose-driven future.
