Melinda spent most of her life in foster care, and like so many aged-out youth, had nowhere to go when she turned eighteen. She struggled to find a consistent place to lay her head and experienced the fear and anxiety of being on her own without a home. She made it her mission to secure steady housing, and with a persistent spirit, was able to see that dream become a reality recently when she signed a lease on her first apartment and moved in!
With the support of our community, this new place will be so much more than a shelter for Melinda- it will be her first home.
