Karina’s Dream #1
Karina is dreaming of becoming a Case Manager and needs help covering her car registration and insurance. Reliable transportation is an important part of reaching her goal, allowing her to get to school, work, and the opportunities she needs to continue building her career. With support for these expenses, Karina can maintain reliable transportation while staying focused on completing her Psychology degree.
Karina has worked hard to build a future centered around helping others. After navigating foster care and challenges including housing insecurity, poverty, lack of transportation, and limited support, she has continued moving forward. She recently completed three years of service with AmeriCorps, where she worked in a technology position and served as a peer resource advocate—experiences that strengthened her passion for supporting others.
Karina has returned to college to complete her associate degree in Psychology, with plans to continue on to earn her bachelor's degree. Her ultimate goal is to work as a Case Manager, supporting individuals as they navigate difficult circumstances and connecting them with the resources they need to move toward greater stability. She hopes to use her understanding of people, empathy, and lived experiences to help others feel supported and empowered.
Karina is especially proud of returning to college and continuing her education despite the obstacles she has faced. She describes herself as funny, intelligent, loving, caring, and empathetic, with a natural ability to understand and connect with people. Helping Karina maintain her car registration and insurance would remove an immediate transportation barrier while she works toward her degree and her dream of becoming a Case Manager dedicated to helping others move forward.
