Joshua’s Dream
Joshua is dreaming of becoming a social worker and is in need of a reliable laptop to support his college education. Fulfilling this dream will provide him with the technology he needs to complete coursework, stay organized, and continue working toward a career dedicated to helping others.
After spending eight years in foster care and aging out of the system, Joshua has been navigating adulthood independently for the past year. Like many young adults leaving foster care, he faced challenges finding employment after high school, but one of the biggest obstacles has been building a strong support network while learning to navigate adulthood on his own. Despite these challenges, he has remained focused on creating a meaningful future through education and service.
Today, Joshua balances full-time college coursework while working part-time at Walmart. He is pursuing degrees in Psychology and Sociology with the goal of earning a bachelor's degree in Social Work and, eventually, a master's degree. He hopes to build a career in social work or Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), where he can support individuals and families and make a lasting impact in his community.
Friends describe Joshua as outgoing, energetic, and thoughtful, with a great sense of humor that helps him connect with others. One of his proudest accomplishments is returning to college at age 25, demonstrating that it's never too late to invest in your future and pursue your dreams. Whether he's spending time fishing, hiking, exercising, or relaxing with his dog, Joshua approaches life with optimism and determination.
A reliable laptop would be an essential tool as Joshua continues balancing work and school, allowing him to complete assignments, conduct research, and stay connected to his classes. More importantly, your support would be an investment in a resilient young man who is using his own lived experience to pursue a career helping others overcome challenges and build brighter futures.
