Jana entered foster care at the tender age of thirteen-a time when young girls are swooning over their favorite pop star, not trying to find their place in a stranger’s home. She could have let her dreams get swallowed up by the overwhelming prospect of establishing her independence alone, but instead, dug deep and started building towards the life she wanted. When she aged out, she put herself through a CNA program and now works two jobs to provide for herself and her disabled son, while going to nursing school to get to get her degree as a registered nurse.
Jana is an amazing, ambitious young woman, who is working hard to give her son the kind of life she would have loved to have. With the support of a new computer, she will be able to stay on track with work and school, and keep taking steps towards achieving her dreams.
