Jamilet’s Dream
Jamilet is dreaming of becoming a successful business owner and community leader and needs small business supplies to help build and grow her ventures. She is currently creating a community-focused business that connects youth, families, entrepreneurs, and community members with education, creative opportunities, resources, and support. Funding for essential business equipment, technology, branding materials, and other startup supplies would help her move her ideas forward and create a strong foundation for a sustainable business.
Jamilet spent 9 years in foster care and has been on her own for the past eight years. Her journey into adulthood has required tremendous strength and responsibility. At just 17 years old, Jamilet became the primary guardian and caregiver for six of her siblings, a responsibility she carried until last year. While caring for her family, she worked to continue her education, pursue employment, and build a future of her own.
Despite these obstacles, Jamilet has continued to move forward. She earned her Pharmacy Technician Certification, and actively participates in entrepreneurship workshops and networking opportunities. Today, she is focused on strengthening her professional skills, developing her business, and creating greater stability for her future. Her experiences have shaped her into someone who understands the importance of having access to resources, mentorship, and opportunities—and she wants to make those same supports available to others.
Jamilet's vision extends beyond simply owning a business. She hopes to develop organizations that provide mentorship, creative services, educational resources, business support, and resource navigation for youth, families, entrepreneurs, and underserved communities. She wants to use her creativity, leadership, and lived experiences to help others overcome barriers and build stable futures.
Support with small business supplies would give Jamilet the practical tools she needs to continue developing her business and taking meaningful steps toward entrepreneurship. It would help her build a career that aligns with her passion for serving others while working toward long-term financial stability. With the support of our community, Jamilet can continue turning the challenges she has overcome into a foundation for opportunity, leadership, and positive change.
