Jakala's Dream #2
Jakala is dreaming of furniture for her first apartment. Fulfilling this dream will help her get the basic furniture she needs to fully settle into her home.
Jakala spent over a decade in foster care, and for the past year, she has been fully on her own, navigating adulthood without a safety net. Since aging out, she has faced the steep realities of independence—balancing work, rent, and bills while relying solely on herself to stay afloat.
Jakala works full time as a caregiver and behavioral technician supporting adults with mental disabilities, often juggling multiple assignments at once to remain financially stable. She is a hardworking, dedicated, and self-driven young woman who has worked consistently since her teenage years. Even though it’s been hard on her own, she is proud of how she’s been able to provide for herself. Her long-term goals include returning to school, pursuing a skilled trade in healthcare or cosmetology, and eventually saving toward homeownership.
With the support of our community, Jakala can furnish her first apartment and continue building a stable foundation—one that supports her well-being, honors how far she’s come, and helps her move confidently toward her future.
Cost of Dream: $365
