Ishanae is dreaming of becoming a nurse and needs registration fees to continue her program. She is excited that fulfillment of this dream will allow her to register in classes to continue her education.
At just 24 years old, Ishanae has already overcome challenges that many people never face in a lifetime. Entering foster care at age 16 and living independently since then. Despite limited support and numerous obstacles, she has built a life for herself through hard work, determination, and perseverance. Today, she works, balancing multiple jobs while working to re-enroll in school and continue her education.
She recently completed a Medical Assistant program, an achievement she is incredibly proud of, along with obtaining her driver's license and securing her own apartment—all accomplished through her own dedication and resilience.
Those who know Ishanae describe her as authentic, hardworking, intelligent, kind, independent, strong, and resilient. She enjoys reading, journaling, exercising, bike riding, music, poetry, spending time with loved ones, and caring for animals. On her ideal weekend, she enjoys catching up on rest, spending time with family and friends, shopping, and taking long drives.
