Anna is dreaming of braces. Fulfilling this dream will help her maintain good dental care and afford her the treatment she needs to have a healthy smile.
Anna entered foster care at the vulnerable age of thirteen. She aged out recently and feels the weight of responsibility that comes with independence. She said, “I’ve been working nonstop just to keep up with bills, school expenses, and everyday life. It gets overwhelming sometimes, but I keep reminding myself that this is part of the journey and that in the end, it’ll be worth it.”
Anna’s resilience is admirable and is paying off as she remains consistent in her studies and gets strong grades each semester. Her ultimate career dream is to be a licensed dental hygienist and have her own dental practice where she provides care to those who lack dental benefits or are nervous about dental work. For now, though, she has dental needs of her own and is hoping that receiving treatment herself will prepare her to deliver the kind of care she hopes to give as a future hygienist.
With drive and determination that won’t quit, Anna is achieving her goals. She shared, “I know what I’m working toward, and I’m not giving up.” This remarkable young woman has all of the internal tools she needs to succeed. Let’s show her that we’re behind her all the way!
