Sonja is dreaming about becoming a cosmetologist. Fulfilling this dream will provide her with the resources she needs for her home-based salon.
Sonja entered foster care at the tender age of thirteen and just aged out this summer. Even with the daily challenges of providing for herself - paying for rent, utilities, food, and more - she is positive, hopeful, and determined to build a meaningful future. Her dream is to complete cosmetology school and open her own beauty shop where a wide range of services are offered at low cost to those in need. Sonja knows that the path to get there will take a lot of hard work, so she is starting small in her home, building a client base, and sharpening her skills.
Sonja’s life hasn’t been easy, but her trials haven’t stolen her spark. Her eyes are bright with possibility, and the future is full of hope!
