Monique
Monique was used to carrying everything on her own.
After eight years in foster care, she aged out determined to build a different future. She worked extra shifts while earning her place in an Advanced Standing Master’s program for Social Work.
She had the drive. She had the vision. But she still needed support.
When someone chose to come alongside her, it looked like a laptop. Something practical, but exactly what she was missing to keep going. That one act of support showed up in every late night, every paper, every moment she kept choosing not to give up.
Today, Monique has graduated with her Master’s in Social Work!
She shared, “The journey hasn’t been easy, but your support reminds me I don’t have to do it alone.”
Monique is continuing forward, working toward her LICSW and using her story to support other youth navigating the same systems she once did.
What she once needed, she is now becoming for someone else.
