Growing up in foster and kinship care, D’Mya carried more instability and trauma than most adults will ever know. But in her darkest moments, she found something powerful…her voice! Writing became a place to let the pain out, make sense of her story, and begin healing.

Those pages turned into poems. Poems turned into books. And books became a calling.

After aging out of a group home, D’Mya continued pursuing her education, working hard, and dreaming boldly about using her words to bring healing to others. That’s when she reached out to us.
