For Alex, a fulfilled dream meant something many of us don’t think twice about: gas in the tank.

After entering foster care as a young teen and aging out at eighteen without a support system, Alex faced the overwhelming realities of surviving on her own while navigating housing instability, financial stress, healthcare needs, and the lasting impact of childhood trauma.

Still, she kept moving forward.

Today, Alex works as an Uber driver while going to school to become a substance abuse counselor, determined to one day help others rebuild their lives the way she has fought to rebuild hers.

Her wish was fulfilled by a dream maker, providing her with gas cards so she can continue working consistently, earning income, and staying on track toward her goals.

“People like you have made lives such as mine easier day-to-day. You give us the ability to feel loved, welcomed, and capable of conquering anything in this world.”

That’s the impact of a dream fulfilled. Sometimes support looks like helping someone stay on the road to work, school, healing, and opportunity. Sometimes it’s simply reminding a young person aging out of foster care that they are not alone.

Alex dreams of using her future career to support people in recovery centers, shelters, and community programs, helping others believe in themselves again.
